Republicans promise 2014 voters the sun and the moon, deliver missed opportunities
We all know the story of the 2014 election – Republicans told voters that DFLers didn’t care about them and were leaving them behind.
Now that the dust has settled from the 2015 session and special session, the view is clear that Republicans didn’t deliver. And with the largest budget in state history and a $1.9 billion surplus that could have been invested to build a better Minnesota for all Minnesotans, all the Republicans have to show for the session is missed opportunities.
Here’s just one of their votes that show their true beliefs:
Oil train danger: Putting railroad profits ahead of public safety
- Voted against funding for highway-rail grade crossing improvements in order to protect railroad company profits. An estimated 326,170 Minnesotans live within a half-mile of crude oil rail routes. (Hornstein A58 amendment to HF4 HJP 2377 4/21/15) Unanimous GOP no votes.
