GOP’s fear and loathing of Hillary Clinton cost you $100 million

NOTE:  With the increasing chorus of Republican congress members calling for Special Prosecutor Mueller to be fired, we’re looking back at their investigations into Hillary Clinton, which ran on and on and on and cost the American taxpayers tens of millions of dollars and resulted in absolutely nothing.

The following article by James Williams was posted on the Newstalk Florida website July 29, 2016:

Republican’s hate Hillary Clinton because she is smarter than they are

PHILADELPHIA — The conventions are over and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton watched as her party did a wonderful job of showing her to be human. A wife, mother, grandmother, someone who loves life and doesn’t mind that she has a boisterous laugh.

Clinton is smart, and likes to play hard ball with the boys and that is something the Republican’s in and out of Washington hate. Let me say that Hillary Clinton is not a saint, nor has she always made the wisest choices, but she is a political survivor in a man’s world.

Truth is that the Republican’s in the House and the Senate have had two decades of defining Hillary Clinton as un trustworthy and un truthful. They have done it spending more taxpayers money on battling her than any other political figure in history.

The Republican’s have put a target on her back since she was first lady back in the 1990’s and they have over the years spent more $100 million taxpayer dollars on investigation’s aimed at taking Hillary Clinton down.

She hit their radar when she attempted to overhaul the heath care system and Republicans were not pleased with aggressive style that Clinton showed as a first lady. After all she wasn’t co-president to her husband Bill and her attempt to advance health care legislation were fought tooth and nail by the GOP lead Congress.

They then went after the first lady for her ties to Whitewater investment project in Arkansas that prompted the Republican to appoint a special prosecutor Ken Star to look into matter with the hope of finding some criminal offenses they could pin on the Clinton’s.

The GOP spent over $82 million tax payer dollars on  four Clinton related scandals pushed by the Republicans lawmakers leading up to a much anticipated report from Star the Independent Council. Finally the findings of the Star report were released in September 2000, with the following conclusion. “This office determined that the evidence was insufficient to prove to a jury beyond a reasonable doubt that either President or Mrs. Clinton knowingly participated in any criminal conduct.”

That is $82 million taxpayer dollars gone because of Republican overreach. But they didn’t stop there next came something that happened when she was Secretary of State. The next opportunity to go after her came after the September 11, 2012, attack of a United States outpost in Benghazi, Libya. In the end four Americans killed, questions have continued to arise over the role of then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the attack — or rather, a potential failure to do anything about it. However, was Clinton the main player in the Benghazi attack?

After the longest investigation in United States history that included an unlimited budget, the Republicans convened a total of ten House and Senate committees.

Those committees interviewed over 255 witnesses, held 62 hours of hearings, in which Clinton participated in the two she was asked to testify before. In the ten hearings almost 1,400 questions have been asked and answered by the witnesses, and thirteen reports were published comprising of over 2, 500 pages of information.

The fruits of that partisan labor has brought no charges against Clinton.

The House Republicans spent $8,000 a day investigating Benghazi. The State Department has spent $14 million on answering requests from Republicans that are related to the Benghazi investigations. The final House Select Committee on Benghazi spent $6.5 million with no with no evidence of wrongdoing having been found.

According to a total from the GEO from the second quarter of this year, the amount of public money spent in an attempt get former Secretary Clinton was around a staggering $22 million on the Benghazi.

That is over $100 million dollars’ public money spent by Republican’s to get Hillary Clinton without anything to show for it.  So, now we are out on the campaign trail with only around 100 days left to go till election day.

The Republicans have done a fine job of making Clinton a villain, something she is not, but we will see if the voters get a chance learn to like Clinton enough to make to the White House.
