Hold ‘Em Accountable

With the presidential election results bringing out the worst in people, to work to maintain our values. If you care about our freedoms, pay attention to what’s happening, get engaged (support organizations and individuals who share your vision for our future), and hold our elected officials accountable.

Here are some ways:

Join or contribute to groups protecting those with little or no voice:

American Civil Liberties Union
Southern Poverty Law Center

Or, those organizations working on specific issues:

Moms Demand Action for Common Sense Gun Control
Planned Parenthood
NARAL Pro Choice
Sunlight Foundation

Or, organizations working to build progressive efforts:

Democracy for America

And, don’t forget to join us in our efforts to engage people with progressive. Please volunteer to work here in CD3 as we move toward (we know, everyone take a deep breath) the 2018 election.

Vote with your wallet:

It’s important to know more about who owns the organizations making the products or providing the services you use, and what they do with their employees and how they use their profits.

Here are some you should definitely think about before doing business with:

Charles and David Koch Products

For those who haven’t been that involved, the Kochs are owners of the 2nd largest company in the United States.  They make significant contributions to liberatrian and conservative think tanks and candidates.  They’ve also developed a network of organizations to support their vision for limited regulation 0f their industries (principally oil), limit government’s role in health care and work against efforts to combat climate change.

Here’s a link to their site.

And, here’s a link to a Google spreadsheet someone has prepared on organizations dealing with the Trump family. If you don’t wish to give any of your money to organizations paying them, you can visit the sheet and make the decision (or not).
