SUMMARY:  This resolution disapproves a regulation that required oil and gas companies drilling on public lands to control their hydrocarbon emissions.The BLM regulation was directed to reducing air pollution from venting, burn-off, and leaks of methane which is a heat trapping gas that causes global warming.The BLM estimates that between 2009 and 2014 oil and gas companies wasted enough gas through venting, burn-off, and leaks to power 5.1 million homes for a year.

Paulson voted to disapprove the regulation.
