Paulsen Vote Tracker: H.J. Res. 42

Disapproving the rule submitted by the Department of Labor relating to drug testing of unemployment compensation applicants

SUMMARY:    Many Americans without jobs may be required to pass a drug test or lose short-term unemployment insurance payments as a result of this resolution.

Paulsen voted YES

TAKEAWAY:  Drug testing people receiving unemployment benefits is unnecessary, degrading, and expensive.  This is another assault by Paulsen and the Republicans in the House on people struggling to make ends meet in a world where corporate layoffs to increase short term profits are the norm.
