Rep. Erin Koegel (HD37A) Update: March 5, 2021

Dear Neighbors,

As session progresses I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on the most pressing issues we are working on at the Capitol. Please complete this survey to help me understand where you feel I should focus my efforts for the rest of session.

Several of my bills are continuing to move through the process. One of particular note, HF 648, had a hearing in the State Government committee this week This bill would stop health plans from limiting the amount of screenings and tests for opioids. We shouldn’t force those in recovery and their loved ones to bear the costs of these tests.

Virtual Town Hall

Sen. Jerry Newton and I are holding a virtual town hall on Tuesday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m. We hope you’ll join us to discuss your ideas and priorities for the legislative session. The town hall will be held on Zoom. If you would like to participate in the Zoom portion, click here to RSVP and to submit a question.

Budget Forecast

The state budget officials announced a new economic forecast, highlighting a turnaround in our state budget outlook. This is good news, but the fact remains too many Minnesotans are still struggling as a result of the health and economic impacts from the pandemic. Those who were already struggling before the pandemic have experienced even greater hardship over the past year. We need to come together to invest in what Minnesotans value most – like excellent public schools, health care, and support for small businesses and families – to ensure we can all pull through this crisis.
