Rep. Laurie Pryor Update: June 30, 2017

Rep. Laurie Pryor (48A) – Legislative Update

Dear Neighbors,

It’s been just about a month since the legislative session ended, and I’ve had more time to meet with community members. Sen. Steve Cwodzinski, members of Governor Dayton’s staff and I recently had the opportunity to visit with some members of the Eden Prairie Fire Department about the issues important to them, including safety and their pensions. I also had a terrific time at this past Saturday’s Minnetonka Ice Cream Social.

New Laws

This coming Saturday, July 1, many new laws take effect. Because this is the start of the state’s fiscal year, most provisions in the various budget bills take effect that day. Also starting this week is the start of Sunday liquor sales in Minnesota. House Public Information has compiled a comprehensive listing of these laws that you can see here.

4th of July

I hope you and your family have an Independence Day holiday that is safe, enjoyable, and relaxing. The city of Eden Prairie is again planning a full two days of fun events July 3rd and 4thincluding a 5k run, live music, bingo, and of course at dusk on the 4th, fireworks. I will be attending the celebration at Round Lake Park Tuesday afternoon; if you see me, be sure to say hello. A full listing of the events can be found here.

Throughout the summer and beyond, feel free to reach out to me with any questions, comments, or if I can ever be of assistance. Have a good holiday.

Sincerely,

Laurie Pryor
