Statement from DFL Chairman Ken Martin on 2015 Election Results

Ken Martin 2“As another election day comes to a close, one thing remains clear, voters want candidates who represent their values. Today the candidates that carried the DFL endorsement won races up and down the ballot throughout Minnesota. In fact, nearly all of our DFL endorsed candidates were victorious, a sure sign that the DFL Party values are resonating with Minnesota voters.

“The DFL Party continued to make history when Duluthians elected Emily Larson as the first woman Mayor of their city; by sending Peggy Flanagan, an enrolled member of the White Earth Community, to the State Legislature; and by electing diverse candidates to school boards and city councils throughout Minnesota.

“As we know, DFL values are Minnesota’s values and every voter deserves a candidate who believes in building a better Minnesota. Every DFLer who won tonight believes in making their communities better for hardworking Minnesotans, their families, and future generations.  DFL values are Minnesota values and this election proves that people are ready for elected officials in offices large and small to put them first. Our success tonight throughout Minnesota proves that our party is building to win and building to last.

“Congratulations to all of our newly elected DFL office holders; we look forward to working closely with them to make a difference in the lives of all Minnesotans.”
