Statement from DFL Chairman Ken Martin on Rand Paul’s Visit to Minnesota

“During his visit to the Great State of Minnesota, I hope Rand Paul takes a break from trying to bump up his failing book sales to see how, under Democratic leadership, our state has flourished and many of our families are succeeding.

“If Rand Paul and his like-minded cronies also running for president had their way, more than 493,500 Minnesota residents would not benefit from increasing the federal minimum wage to $10.10, 561,000 student loan borrowers wouldn’t benefit from legislation that would allow them to refinance their loans at lower rates, and 42,000 Minnesotans would lose their health care coverage. No matter how you look at it, Minnesotans would be negatively affected by the very policies that Paul believes in.

“Rand Paul and his backwards priorities have no place in Minnesota.”
