Trump’s Approval Rating Falls Among White Voters

It’s no secret President Donald Trump isn’t popular with the majority of Americans, but a new poll this week shows he is beginning to lose some of the demographics that thrust him into the White House.

The Quinnipiac University survey found that just 36 percent of voters approve of the job Trump is doing, while 58 percent disapprove. That’s a “near-record” negative rating and a drop from last month, the poll noted. In its April 19 poll, Quinnipiac University found Trump’s approval rating stood at 40 percent with 56 percent disapproving. Continue reading “Trump’s Approval Rating Falls Among White Voters”

How low can Donald Trump’s approval rating go?

Since his inauguration, Donald Trump’s net approval rating — already at a historic low for an incoming president — has taken a further hit. According to the Pollster average, about 50 percent of Americans disapprove of the job Trump is doing as president while 43 percent approve, for a net approval rating of -7. In Gallup’s polling, Trump’s net approval is -10.

So what next? At the end of Trump’s first 100 days, where will his approval rating be? Poll: Trump will take office as least popular president in at least 4 decades

The following article by Dan Balz and Scott Clement was posted on the Washington Post website January 17, 2017:

After a tumultuous campaign and transition, President-elect Donald Trump will take the oath of office Friday as the least popular incoming president in at least four decades, but a majority of Americans nevertheless express optimism that he will be able to fulfill campaign pledges to boost the economy and deal with threats of terrorism, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Amid controversy and calls for additional investigations into possible Russian interference in the election, most Americans disapprove of Trump’s response to the hacking and other activities. But they are divided on the question of whether the president-elect has been too friendly toward Russia or taken the right approach in his public comments and posture.
