Eric Trump gets pilloried after giving away the game about the Trump Org indictment on live TV

Raw Story Logo

The Trump Organization and its Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg found themselves in hot water this week when the Manhattan DA revealed an indictment alleging a pattern of criminal financial conduct dating back more than a decade.

While it comes as no surprise that the Trump Organization remains a major topic of discussion today, legal experts, observers, and Twitter users are also puzzled by the public comments about the matter from one person who probably should have been silent: Eric Trump.

Under normal circumstances, people under the heat of criminal investigation are well-advised to refrain from making any remarks about the matter. But the former president’s son didn’t heed that counsel. Continue reading.

According to a report from the Daily Beast’s Jose Pagliery, the case being made against Donald Trump’s children — Don Jr., Ivanka and Eric — for cashing in on Donald Trump’s inauguration after his 2016 presidential win is being delayed while investigators seek testimony from Trump Org executive Allen Weisselberg.

The report states that Sunday, the District of Columbia’s attorney general was notified he will have to wait “…to find out if three more people in the Trump family circle can be forced to testify, as investigators continue to look into whether Donald Trump’s 2017 inauguration committee misspent more than $1 million and enriched his own company.”

In an interview with the Beast, lead witness Stephanie Winston Wolkoff — who helped oversee the inauguration events — said the investigation is looking at “self-dealing” by the Trump family. Continue reading.

How Trump kids’ futures are in full decline now that he’s out of office

Raw Story Logo

In a biting column for the Daily Beast, Molly Jong-Fast notes that talk of a Trump family political dynasty has all but disappeared since Donald Trump lost the 2020 presidential election and his children are sliding into increasing irrelevance.

As Jong-Fast notes, it wasn’t that long ago when Ivanka Trump was going to use the family name and her father’s popularity with a rabid right-wing base to challenge Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) for his U.S. Senate seat, Lara Trump — wife of Trump son Eric — was looking at an open North Carolina Senate seat and Don Jr. was going to run for office — somewhere.

Six months after the brutal Trump re-election loss none of those races are happening as Trump’s star has fallen and he has taken his kids down with him. Continue reading.

Mary Trump Predicts How Donald Trump Will Throw His Children Under The Bus

And the ex-president’s niece is “fairly sure” her cousins will flip on their father.

Mary Trump doesn’t doubt that her uncle, ex-President Donald Trump, will sacrifice his own children to save himself from potential prosecution.

On Monday, CNN’s Chris Cuomo asked Mary Trump if her uncle would “take one for his kids” if they were targeted by prosecutors. Both Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump work for the Trump Organization, which is under criminal investigation by authorities in New York.

“No, he wouldn’t,” responded the former president’s niece, a vocal critic of her relative. Continue reading.

Trump’s Florida resort touted as potential gambling destination

Washington Post logo

Former president Donald Trump’s son Eric, who runs the family’s private company, touted the potential of transforming their Doral golf resort into a gambling destination amid a push among Florida Republicans to legalize casinos in areas of the state that have long opposed them.

Although Republican legislative leaders have not yet submitted a bill, word of a proposal has spread widely enough that supporters and opponents already are gearing up for a fight that they say could be more intense than in previous years, due to Donald Trump’s potential interest and his close relationship with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).

The bill would allow developers to transfer gambling licenses to properties in areas where casinos have long been prohibited and bar local municipal governments from intervening, according to a half-dozen policymakers, lobbyists and other stakeholders, some of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity because the bill’s language has not yet been made public. Trump extended Secret Service protection to his adult children and three top officials as he left office

Washington Post logo

In the days before he left office, President Donald Trump instructed that his family get the best security available in the world for the next six months, at no cost — the protection of the U.S. Secret Service.

According to three people briefed on the plan, Trump issued a directive to extend post-presidency Secret Service protection to his four adult children and two of their spouses, who were not automatically entitled to receive it.

Trump also directed that three key officials leaving government continue to receive the protection for six months: former treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin, former chief of staff Mark Meadows and former national security adviser Robert C. O’Brien, two people familiar with the arrangement said. Continue reading.

Eric Trump tells Minnesotans to ‘get out and vote’ — a week after Election Day

The slip-up came as the Trump son continues to make baseless allegations of voter fraud.

Eric Trump, one of Donald Trump’s three sons, told Minnesotans to “get out and vote” on Tuesday — one week after the election concluded.

It’s unclear if the since-deleted tweet was a mistake (the American Independent Foundation reached out to the Trump campaign for a response, but has not yet received confirmation).

Confused Eric Trump Says Dad Is Getting Cured by His Own ‘Vaccine’

Presidential son Eric Trump apparently thinks that a coronavirus vaccine has been fully developed and his father took it after he caught the virus in order to defeat COVID-19.

If you are confused by that, you aren’t alone.

Eric Trump appeared on ABC’s This Week on Sunday morning to discuss President Donald Trump’s return to public events and campaign rallies despite his recent hospitalization for coronavirus. Prior to the younger Trump’s interview, guest host Jonathan Karl told viewers that the White House refused their request to bring on public health experts from the coronavirus task force. Eric Trump Claims His Father ‘Literally Saved Christianity’

Eric Trump claimed in an Oct. 2 interview that his father “saved Christianity” in America.

“He’s literally saved Christianity,” Eric Trump told a radio station in North Dakota. “There’s a full-out war on faith in this country by the other side.”

Eric Trump also claimed Democrats are “the party” of atheism and said, “they want to attack Christianity.”

This is untrue. Both parties have members who are atheists, and while there are more within the Democratic Party, most Democrats say that they are Christians. Continue reading.

Eric Trump’s comments to Fox News come back to haunt him in new brief from NY Attorney General

President Donald Trump’s son Eric, a major figure within the Trump Organization’s businesses, has claimed he told a court that he is willing to appear in compliance with New York Attorney General Letitia James’ subpoena.

But in a new briefing, James pointed out that Eric Trump and his legal team have in fact stated a “categorical refusal” to appear — and that one of those refusals occurred during an interview with Fox News Radio.
