The public doesn’t trust the president

I have seen enough of Donald Trump.  He is a threat to democracy, common decency and perhaps even humanity.

After his election, as a good citizen, I felt he deserved a chance.  We need to have faith in the American people.  Trump did win the Rust Belt swing states.

You cannot believe everything politicians say to win votes, and I thought his appalling words in the Republican primary elections were, perhaps, to distance himself from his liberal New York roots.

I have now seen enough.  He tells one lie after another, little has gotten done, he launches narcissistic Twitter attacks almost daily against now hundreds of people, and finally the outrage following his “wink-wink” to Nazis following Charlottesville.

My grandfather fought in World War II.  The state of Minnesota and city of Eden Prairie fought to bring down the Nazi Third Reich.  Jesus, whom I follow, teaches love and not hate.  Our Declaration of Independence proclaims liberty and equality.  I have seen enough.

It is sad.  I feel sad.

I am hearted that senators have introduced the special Council Integrity Act that would prevent President Trump from firing special prosecutor Robert Mueller investigating the Russia-Trump campaign allegations.  Mueller is a Republican and was previously appointed by President George W. Bush to the FBI.

Mueller has assembled an all-star group of criminal investigators specializing in forensic international money transfers, mafia organized crime, Enron, national security and terrorism, fraud and foreign bribery.

Michael Flynn, Trump’s formal national security advisor and a Trump campaign figure, appears to be a key figure.  Flynn previously asked for immunity and was denied.

I respectfully ask that our leaders in Congress pass a bill to require Secretary of Defense James Maddis, or similar, approve any sudden use of nuclear weapons ordered by the president.
