Tuesday Nov. 3, 2015 is Election Day

DFL Vote GraphicPlease help get the word out!  Many communities in our district are holding local elections Tuesday, November 3rd for school boards and city council seats.

Please use the Secretary of State’s website portal to find your polling location, as communities consolidate to fewer polling locations for city and school district elections.  Your polling location Tuesday will probably not be the one you usually vote in.

The following communities are holding elections.  These local elections are traditionally very low turnout elections and every vote counts.  Please share this information with your friends, neighbors and family and encourage everyone to vote.

Bloomington School Board
Bloomington City Council
Brooklyn Center School Board
Brooklyn Park School Board (Anoka-Hennepin District 5)
Eden Prairie School Board
Hopkins City Council
Hopkins School Board
Independence City Council
Minnetonka City Council
Minnetonka School Board
Orono School Board
Races in Senate District 49
Richfield School Board
St. Louis Park City Council
St. Louis Park, House District 46A
St. Louis Council School Board
Wayzata School Board

And, remember, there is no excuse absentee balloting. People can vote early without an excuse. Check your local election office for time and locations.  (School board absentee voting can be held at the district offices, rather than the city hall.)

Not registered to vote?  In Minnesota, you can register Election Day.  Here’s a list of the different identification options you can use:  http://mnvotesinfo.sos.state.mn.us/voters/voter-registration/register-on-election-day/
