The Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota Action Fund announced its largest-ever electoral effort, with plans to invest $2 million in voter outreach work — three times the amount spent in previous election cycles. “We’re sending a clear message to the politicians who’ve made careers of undermining our freedoms and rights: We’re voting you out in 2018,” said executive director Tim Stanley in a statement. In the states Democrats need to win to have a chance of taking back control of the Senate in November, it all comes down to policies vs. personalities. Although the national political environment favors Democrats, they face a daunting Senate map, with 10 seats to defend in states President Trump won. In some of these states, Trump has retained his popularity and the national Democratic brand is in bad shape.
