‘I think this is going to become a bad meme,’ an astonished Chuck Todd replied.

Rudy Giuliani has given us the new perfect phrase to describe the constant lies in Trumpworld. Say goodbye to “alternative facts,” and hello to “truth isn’t truth.”

On Sunday morning’s edition of “Meet the Press,” Giuliani complained to host Chuck Todd that he didn’t want Trump to be rushed into an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller. Giuliani claimed doing this would get Trump “trapped into perjury,” because Trump’s testimony would be compared with “somebody’s version of the truth.”

“Truth is truth!” Todd interrupted.

Rudy Giuliani lied on air, and CNN’s Jake Tapper had the video to prove it.

Rudy Giuliani tried to defend Trump on TV this weekend — but only succeeded in getting caught lying during a live interview on Sunday’s edition of CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Giuliani told host Jake Tapper that “there was no conversation about Michael Flynn” between Trump and former FBI director James Comey.

Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani has actually admitted that Trump will commit perjury if special counsel Robert Mueller gets him under oath.

On Wednesday night’s edition of “Hannity,” host Sean Hannity asked Giuliani about the Trump legal team’s response to Mueller’s request to interview Trump.

Giuliani’s response proved that he just might be the worst legal spokesman in history.

Rudy Giuliani is actually making faces to cast doubt on DOJ investigations

The following article by JM Rieger was posted on the Washington Post website August 5, 2018:

Over the past three months, President Trump has sent his lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani on a public-relations campaign to undermine the investigations surrounding Trump before they even conclude.

Part of Giuliani’s rhetorical tactics — which you can watch in the video above — include dramatic facial expressions, laughs, sighs and over-the-top reactions, which he employs liberally and are meant to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the questions or topics in interviews to which he has agreed.

In July, Giuliani made a number of bewildered facial expressions during a CNN interview while complaining about the supposed bias in special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation (Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein has testified otherwise).

Fox News Hosts Stunned As Giuliani Twists Himself into Knots About a ‘Second’ Trump Tower Meeting: ‘It Still Doesn’t Make Sense’

During a live TV interview on Monday, Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani called in to Fox News’ “Outnumbered” in an effort to clear up statements he made earlier in the day—and ended up confusing the hosts even more.

Giuliani on Monday appeared to move the goal posts on Russian collusion, insisting that Donald Trump could not have committed a crime because he didn’t personally carry out any hacking—a far cry from claims there was “no collusion.” He also told CNN Trump never attended the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting, a claim that raised questions as no reporting has placed Trump at that meeting.

Giuliani told Fox News his bizarre statements Monday morning were not a departure from his previous position, telling Harris Faulkner he’s “been saying from the very beginning” that “my client didn’t do it and even if he did it, it’s not a crime.”

‘Buckle Up, Buttercup’: Michael Avenatti Warns Giuliani and Trump Their Attacks on Cohen Make Them ‘Look Desperate’

The following article by Elizabeth Preza was posted on the AlterNet website July 29, 2018:

“What are you and Mr. Trump so afraid of if he did nothing wrong as you claim?”

Michael Avenatti, the attorney for adult film star Stormy Daniels on Sunday ripped Rudy Giuliani over his attacks on former Donald Trump “fixer” Michael Cohen, inviting the president’s lawyer to “buckle up, buttercup.”

Giuliani on Saturday said Cohen’s attorney Lanny Davis is “destroying” his client’s “creditability and usefulness as a witness” by leaking more of Cohen’s “surreptitiously recorded tapes.”

Press saying today that Lanny Davis is getting ready to leak more of his client’s surreptitiously recorded tapes. All you’re doing is destroying Cohen’s credibility and his usefulness as a witness and his career as a lawyer. Get some competent legal advice.

In response, Avenatti warned Giuliani he looks “desperate, [because] you are.”

Giuliani works for foreign clients while serving as Trump’s attorney

The following article by Josh Dawsey, Tom Hamburger and Ashley Parker was posted on the Washington Post website July 10, 2018:

Rudolph W. Giuliani continues to work on behalf of foreign clients both personally and through his namesake security firm while serving as President Trump’s personal attorney — an arrangement experts say raises conflict-of-interest concerns and could run afoul of federal ethics laws.

Giuliani said in recent interviews with The Washington Post that he is working with clients in Brazil and Colombia, among other countries, as well as delivering paid speeches for a controversial Iranian dissident group. He has never registered with the Justice Department on behalf of his overseas clients, asserting it is not necessary because he does not directly lobby the U.S. government and is not charging Trump for his services.

His decision to continue representing foreign entities also departs from standard practice for presidential attorneys, who in the past have generally sought to sever any ties that could create conflicts with their client in the White House.

Shifting Strategy, Trump’s Lawyers Set New Conditions for Mueller Interview

WASHINGTON — President Trump’s lawyers set new conditions on Friday on an interview with the special counsel and said that the chances that the president would be voluntarily questioned were growing increasingly unlikely.

The special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, needs to prove before Mr. Trump would agree to an interview that he has evidence that Mr. Trump committed a crime and that his testimony is essential to completing the investigation, said Rudolph W. Giuliani, the president’s lead lawyer in the case.

His declaration was the latest sign that the president’s lawyers, who long cooperated quietly with the inquiry even as their client attacked it, have shifted to an openly combative stance.

Can President Trump Shoot Jim Comey?

Last weekend, the White House leaked a copy of a letter sent by President Donald Trump’s legal team on Jan. 29 to special counsel Robert Mueller. The letter set forth the president’s legal strategy, arguing essentially that he is immune from prosecution for any crime.

To soften the tone of this poorly received letter, the White House dispatched Rudy Giuliani, the president’s most visible legal spokesperson, to address the issues that his colleagues had raised. He made matters worse when he suggested that if the president ordered Jim Comey “shot in the Oval Office,” he couldn’t be prosecuted because the president can pardon himself and because the president’s personal and presidential behavior is beyond the reach of the criminal justice system. Trump lawyer Giuliani is more unpopular than even Trump himself

It looks like the rambling, incoherent interviews are taking a toll on Rudy Giuliani’s reputation.

A new national poll reveals that Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani has become a hugely unpopular figure in American politics. He can thank his re-emergence on the national stage as Trump’s errand boy last month.

Once viewed by many Americans as an esteemed figure in U.S. politics, particularly when he served as mayor of New York City at the time of the 9/11 terror attacks, Giuliani, thanks to his work with Trump this spring, has quickly transformed himself into a punch line.
