Obama: Trump ‘whines that 60 Minutes is too tough’

Our current president, he whines that 60 Minutes is too tough. You think he’s going to stand up to dictators? He thinks Leslie Stahl is a bully,” Obama said.

Here are the questions that caused Trump to walk out of his ‘60 Minutes’ interview with Lesley Stahl

The reason President Donald Trump stormed out of a “60 Minutes” interview with Lesley Stahl was that she asked about the Michigan rally in which his supporters began chanting “lock her up” about Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Trump held the rally over the weekend attacking her for not opening up the state back up when he wanted it.

“So you don’t want to lock her up?” Stahl asked.

“That’s such a vicious thing you just said,” Trump claimed. “When did I say lock her up?” Continue reading.

Trump ends ‘60 Minutes’ interview, attacks Lesley Stahl on Twitter

The president, reportedly frustrated by the line of questioning, said he was considering posting the interview before airtime “for the sake of accuracy in reporting.”

At the White House on Tuesday afternoon, President Donald Trump ended a fiery interview taping with CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” proceeded to launch an attack against the interviewer on Twitter for not wearing a mask, and threatened to post the interview before it aired.

The drama unfolded after Trump was frustrated with the line of questioning and how the interview was being conducted, said one person familiar with the episode, while another in the room described the president as “pissed.”

The president spent more than 40 minutes with CBS News correspondent Lesley Stahl, and did not proceed to shoot a second portion of the interview that included Vice President Mike Pence. Following a short break, the president decided he had spent enough time in the interview, one White House official said. Pence went on to spend 15 minutes with Stahl and the “60 Minutes” crew. ‘Such a puff piece’: Nancy Pelosi unleashed on Trump in a ‘60 Minutes’ interview, and the president isn’t happy

President Trump lashed out at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Sunday night and again on Monday morning on Twitter following a CBS “60 Minutes” interview during which she recounted standing up to him and reiterated her opinion that he is unfit for office and knows it.

“There’s nobody in the country who knows better that he should not be president of the United States than Donald Trump,” Pelosi told CBS’s Lesley Stahl in a roughly 14-minute segment that aired Sunday. In the wide-ranging interview, Pelosi touted Democrats’ achievements in their first 100 days in control of the House of Representatives while also discussing last December’s heated Oval Office showdown over funding for Trump’s border wall, her now-famous State of the Union clap and the power she holds in her current position.

Pelosi’s comments did not appear to go over well with Trump.

Trump’s silence on Stormy Daniels is deafening

The following article by Aaron Blake was posted on the Washington Post website March 26, 2018:

As Stormy Daniels continues to speak out about her alleged affair with President Trump, he is staying largely silent. (Jenny Starrs/The Washington Post)

Despite the hype, Stormy Daniels’s big “60 Minutes” interview didn’t add much to the conversation. Much of the interview rehashed things she had already disclosed in that 2011 interview with InTouch magazine. The newsiest bits were a couple of times when she claimed to have been threatened by people she couldn’t identify.

But now that Daniels is talking publicly about the affair, it reinforces one central and entirely conspicuous fact about this entire situation: Trump isn’t. And neither, really, is the White House. Continue reading “Trump’s silence on Stormy Daniels is deafening”

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos appeared on CBS’s “60 Minutes” Sunday night and stumbled in answering questions that journalist Lesley Stahl asked during a pointed interview.

Stahl repeatedly challenged the education secretary, at one point suggesting that DeVos should visit underperforming public schools to learn about their problems. DeVos responded, “Maybe I should.” The secretary also said she is “not so sure exactly” how she became, as Stahl described her, “the most hated” member of President Trump’s Cabinet but believes that she is “misunderstood.” Continue reading “Education Secretary Betsy DeVos stumbles during pointed ‘60 Minutes’ interview”
