Last fall, the party vehemently pushed Democrats to return their donations from Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, a major Democratic donor.

WASHINGTON ― The Republican National Committee stood by its decision to keep donations from its former finance chair Steve Wynn, even as years of sexual misconduct allegations forced the casino magnate to step down from his company Tuesday night.

Wynn resigned as the RNC’s finance chair on Jan. 27 following a Wall Street Journal investigation that alleged he had engaged in serial sexual harassment and assault against employees at his Las Vegas casinos and properties over the years. Trump has some Weinstein-like qualities

The Rev. Timothy Johnson, it he Oct. 19 issue of the Eden Prairie News, uses Harvey Weinstein as the poster boy to set up his opinion piece, “Weinstein is reminder of the need for morals.”

The Rev. Johnson discusses the moral matters he thinks one should ponder as a result of Weinstein’s “multitudinous sexual encounters with almost anyone he wanted to conquer … .”

Weinstein has admitted that he is “sick” and needs help. One can only hope our justice system finds its way to do that. It’s breathtaking that his alleged behavior could go on for so long and be accepted as a norm. The Rev. Johnson has given his readers a lot to think about. Sexual Harassment? Let’s Not Forget The Alpha Creep

The accumulating allegations of assault and harassment raised against Harvey Weinstein in recent days are deeply disturbing, and may well result in criminal prosecution of the Hollywood producer. Beyond Weinstein’s own fate, this latest episode in the very old history of women’s mistreatment by unscrupulous men seems likely to expose still more perpetrators, in occupations and industries far beyond the movie business. Sexist thugs prey on the defenseless in corporate suites and military bases, from factories and farms to restaurants and retailers.
