Omarosa Releases Tape of Sarah Huckabee Sanders Agreeing With Trump’s ‘Lies’

The following article by Matt Wilstein was posted on the Daily Beast website September 10, 2018:

In a new tape played by Omarosa Manigault Newman on ‘The View,’ Sarah Huckabee Sanders can be heard confirming Trump’s distortion of the Russia story.

With Bob Woodward’s new book climbing the best-seller charts ahead of its official release this week and all of Washington still obsessing over that anonymous op-ed in The New York Times, it’s possible Omarosa Manigault Newman is starting to feel a little left out.

The author of Unhinged returned to The View on Monday morning armed with yet another secret audio recording that she says was made inside the White House. Introduced by Whoopi Goldberg as someone who went from one of Trump’s “biggest defenders to one of his biggest nightmares,” Manigault-Newman came out swinging against the president.

“You cannot silence someone when they’re coming forward to expose corruption,” she said of the Trump team’s arbitration action against her. “I’m going to keep on fighting.”

Donald Trump has told advisers he wants his attorney general, Jeff Sessions, to have his former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman arrested, Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman reports.

According to Sherman, despite receiving advice from aides and his wife Melania Trump to “just ignore” Manigault Newman’s book tour, Trump has opted instead to attack and insult his former “Apprentice” co-star and confidante.

Though it’s unclear which law the president believes Manigault Newman broke, a former West Wing official told Sherman that Trump’s reaction is likely rooted in what he sees as “a personal betrayal.”

AP source: It’s not just audio, Manigault Newman has video

The following article by Darlene Superville was posted on the Associate Press News website August 18, 2018:

WASHINGTON (AP) — It’s not just audiotapes.

Omarosa Manigault Newman has a stash of video, emails, text messages and other documentation supporting the claims in her tell-all book about her time in the Trump White House, a person with direct knowledge of the records told The Associated Press Friday.

Manigault Newman has made clear that she plans to continue selectively releasing the pieces of evidence if President Donald Trump and his associates continue to attack her credibility and challenge the claims in her book, “Unhinged.” She’s already dribbled out audio recordings of conversations, and video clips, texts or email could follow, according to the person who described what Manigault Newman has called a multimedia “treasure trove.” The person was not authorized to discuss the issue publicly and asked for anonymity.

The Memo: For Trump, this week has been anything but sleepy

The following article by Niall Stanage was posted on the Hill website August 18, 2018:

President Trump has had a wild week during the normally sleepy height of summer, lashing out against former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman, stripping former CIA Director John Brennan of his security clearance and getting into a spat with Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) as he canceled his proposed military parade in the city.

Trump also weighed in Friday on Paul Manafort’s trial before departing from the White House for the weekend, telling reporters that his former campaign chairman was “a very good person” and that it was “very sad what they’ve done” to him.

The remarks quickly led to criticism on cable television and social media, where observers said it was inappropriate at best for the president to make comments on a trial as the jury, instructed to avoid news coverage, deliberated on a verdict.

‘Like a dog’: Trump has a long history of using canine insults to dehumanize enemies

In President Trump’s singular lexicon, there is no more vicious put-down than likening an adversary to a dog.

“Choked like a dog.”

“Fired like a dog.”

The Memo: Omarosa fury shows no signs of cooling

The following article by Niall Stanage was posted on the Hill website August 13, 2018:

The furor around Omarosa Manigault Newman is rumbling on — and that is bad news for the White House, even as the administration disparages the former reality show star as lacking in credibility.

Manigault Newman, who served in Trump’s White House for almost a year, made her share of enemies during her tenure. But she is adept at the publicity game — a skill she is parlaying into extensive coverage for her book, “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House.”

The book is deeply critical of Trump, suggesting, among other charges, that he is racist and not mentally fit to be president.

Omarosa Manigault Newman is the latest person to earn one of President Donald Trump’s infamous nicknames, as the president attacked his former adviser on Twitter Monday.

“Wacky Omarosa, who got fired 3 times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time. She never made it, never will,” Trump tweeted. “She begged me for a job, tears in her eyes, I said Ok. People in the White House hated her. She was vicious, but not smart.”

Wacky Omarosa, who got fired 3 times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time. She never made it, never will. She begged me for a job, tears in her eyes, I said Ok. People in the White House hated her. She was vicious, but not smart. I would rarely see her but heard….

Trump’s attack comes after Manigault Newman — who is on a media tour promoting her book, “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House” — released tapes related to her firing from the White House last year.

With Omarosa’s exit, the Trump White House doesn’t have any black senior advisers

Interest in the reality-show-level drama of Omarosa Manigault Newman’s exit is overshadowing a more important fact: President Trump doesn’t have any black senior advisers at the White House.

While the Trump administration’s surgeon general, Dr. Jerome M. Adams, and secretary of housing and urban development, Ben Carson, are black men, neither is White House staff. Continue reading “With Omarosa’s exit, the Trump White House doesn’t have any black senior advisers”
