Trump says he watches 7 hours of TV a day — after saying he doesn’t ‘watch very much’

Donald Trump once said he didn’t have enough time to watch television.

Donald Trump on Thursday said he had watched more than seven hours of Fox News programming since Wednesday night, listing off the prime-time shows he tuned in to on the right-wing propaganda network.

“I watched Liz MacDonald — she’s fantastic. I watched Fox Business. I watched Lou Dobbs last night, Sean Hannity last night, Tucker last night, Laura. I watched ‘Fox & Friends’ in the morning,” Trump said at a news conference from the White House, referencing Fox’s prime-time line-up as well as its three-hour-long morning show.

Trump’s constant watching of Fox News — and repeating of its talking points — is well known. Continue reading.

Trump steps off the golf course and takes a swing at John McCain

With the news cycle exploding over reports that Donald Trump called American soldiers who died to stop a German attack on Paris “losers” and “sucker,” it’s obvious that Trump had only one choice: Spend the day honoring America’s military by chasing a little white ball around his private golf course in Virginia.

But if Trump’s scheduled for Saturday seemed incredibly callous and tone deaf, his continuing reaction to the scandal is just as predictable as the way he shaves off just a few strokes on his scorecard. Trump’s most recent tweets starts off with a series of lies about all the great things he’s done for the military. A list that for some reason doesn’t include stealing the money that was meant to be used for housing, schools, and hospitals to be used for his nonexistent and useless “Wall.” Then Trump declared that The Atlantic author Jeffrey Goldberg was a “slimeball reporter” who was ruining all his hard work in doing things like the Veteran’s Choice bill that President Obama actually signed.

Trump also accused Goldberg of “making up a horrible charge” and said that he was “maybe working with disgruntled people.” Disgruntled people apparently covers any White House official because the statements first reported by Goldberg have been confirmed by The Washington Post, and the Associated Press, and Fox News. Not only that, Losergate is perfectly in line with everything Trump has said since before he was elected. Oh, and Trump couldn’t even make it two tweets without taking a swing at John McCain. Trump gives a pathetic excuse for not preparing for a pandemic: ‘I have a lot of things going on’

AlterNet logoIn an interview with ABC News’ David Muir, President Donald Trump admitted Tuesday that he didn’t do enough to prepare for a pandemic before the outbreak of COVID-19, claiming he was distracted by the investigations into his conduct.

Muir, reacting to Trump’s repeated false claims that the Obama administration left the stockpile shelves bare of equipment that is needed during a pandemic, asked why the president didn’t fill those shelves.

“You’re three years into your first term,” Muir said. “You’re now applying for the job again. What did you do when you became president to restock those cupboards that you say were bare?” Continue reading.

Trump Infuriated By Leak Of Schedules Proving His Laziness

Credit: Jonathan Ernst, Reuters

Trump is awfully unhappy that someone keeps leaking his daily schedules — the ones that show him doing next to nothing all day long. After three months of schedules were leaked, Trump launched a hunt for the White House staffer who confirmed Trump’s deep and abiding laziness to the public.

But despite that hunt, even more daily schedules have leaked. And they show the same thing: vast swaths of “executive time” — the code phrase everyone has settled on to describe the many, many hours Trump spends not doing the work of being president.

Over the weekend, Trump went on Twitter to claim that when his schedule says it is executive time, “I am generally working, not relaxing.” He also insisted that the media getting his work schedule was actually “something very easy to do.” Finally, he deployed his characteristic nonsense bombast and declared, “In fact, I probably work more hours than almost any past President.”

Scoop: Insider leaks Trump’s “Executive Time”-filled private schedules

A White House source has leaked nearly every day of President Trump’s private schedule for the past three months.

Why it matters: This unusually voluminous leak gives us unprecedented visibility into how this president spends his days. The schedules, which cover nearly every working day since the midterms, show that Trump has spent around 60% of his scheduled time over the past 3 months in unstructured “Executive Time.”
