Senate Impeachment ‘Jurors’ Dining With Trump

Many Senate Republicans have dodged questions about the impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump, saying that they are staying neutral because they will likely be “jurors” in any impeachment trial.

But according to a Politico report on Thursday, Trump has been hosting many of these same prospective “jurors” for a series of group lunches, part of an “intense outreach” in advance of possible impeachment.

With a public that narrowly approves of the inquiry into Trump’s potentially illegal behavior and a GOP base that strongly opposes it, several Republican senators have punted on questions, noting that they might have to be impartial jurors.

Mitch McConnell Piously Urges ‘Civility’ In Politics

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell called for “civility” on Monday after his reelection campaign publicly mused about the death of one of his rivals.

McConnell told Kentucky residents in a speech that America has a “behavioral problem” adding, “People are acting out and it’s not, I don’t think, limited to one ideological place or another. You’ve just got a lot of people engaging in bad behavior.”

Americans have to “learn how to behave better, how to be able to disagree without anger,” he said.

George Conway Suggests New Donald Trump Tweet May Break The Law

Kellyanne Conway’s husband was criticizing the president for his fawning praise of Roger Stone.

President Donald Trump tweeted praise of his longtime adviser Roger Stone on Monday, after Stone had declared that he would never testify against the president.

The rest of the internet ― and especially George Conway ― groaned.

Over the weekend, Stone said on ABC’s “This Week” that there was “no circumstance” under which he would testify in the special counsel’s ongoing investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, “because I’d have to bear false witness” against Trump.
