To the editor:
Most of my neighbors and I agree that the Republican Party candidates in the upcoming election do not do near enough to challenge and stop the drumbeat of Donald Trump and his ideological base at all levels.
Since when do Americans tolerate daily lies and distortions of reality?
Since when do Americans tolerate hateful views of immigrants and people of color and the degradation of women?
Since when do Americans tolerate the dismantling of government regulations to protect our health and voting rights and the packing of the Supreme Court with political ideologists who will not honor our Constitution and its essential role of protecting our democracy from oligarchy?
Since when do Americans support massive debt and tax relief that benefit the wealthy at the expense of everyone who wants their children to be healthy and safe, well educated and able to live life to its fullest?
Since when do Americans tolerate the corruption of our elections and justice department, and traitorous partnerships with our enemies?
Since when do Americans tolerate selfish unsuccessful representatives who care more about their jobs than relentlessly helping all of us build a better life?
I urge all of our neighbors to declare enough is enough. This is the time to stand against the corruption of our government.
Please vote for the candidates that offer hope, reason, integrity and a total commitment to honor truth, transparency and energized representation that works for all of us.
Support no current Republican and vote for Kelly Morrison, Dean Phillips, Tim Walz, Tina Smith, Amy Klobuchar and others for maybe the most important vote of our lives and our country’s future.
