Jackie Stevenson Award (Volunteer of the Year) –This will be given to the top individual who has gone above and beyond helping to help the DFL. Are they someone who routinely door knocks every weekend (rain, snow or shine)? Did they make phone calls to help your group meet our No Data Goal? What ever they have done, they are true DFLers through and through.
Sen. Linda Scheid Award (Legislator of the Year) – This will be given to the top Legislator in CD 3. Is there a Senator who worked across the aisle to propose beneficial legislation for their district? Or a House member would take time out each week to meet with constituents on issues such as Insulin for all or Gun Violence Protection. No matter if they are in the majority or minority, they still worked hard for all of us.
Rick Nelson Award (The Behind the Scenes Volunteer) – This will be given to the individual who works hard behind the scenes without acknowledgement. Did you have a volunteer who wrote post cards every day last cycle for various candidates? How about someone who would host door knocks every weekend and always have great food for the door knockers when they came back. This person is someone who steps up knowing that what they are doing is for the larger picture, not admiration.
Newcomer of the Year (New in 2019) – With the growth that our community and organization have seen, we want to honor those individuals and all they have done to help turn us blue! We are looking for volunteers new to the party as of the 2016 cycle (including early 2015), who worked hard to elect Democrats in CD 3.
