‘Detached from reality and not well’: MSNBC’s Morning Joe scorches Trump’s ‘unbalanced’ behavior in Minneapolis

AlterNet logoMSNBC’s Joe Scarborough refused to show video from President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Minneapolis out of respect to the president’s loved ones.

The “Morning Joe” host said the event showed the full range of Trump’s personality disorders and mental decline, and he said the president needed psychological care.

“There was an event last night,” Scarborough said, “where the president got out and said a few things, was a little unbalanced. As George Conway said, the husband of one of president’s top aides, said he appeared to have severe personality disorders that were on full display.”

DFL Statement on Trump’s Minneapolis Rally

SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA- Ken Martin, Chairman of the Minnesota DFL, released the following statement on Donald Trump’s rally in Minneapolis:

“Tonight we witnessed a President of the United States who instead of finding ways to bring this country together during a time of unprecedented unease and anxiety has doubled down on his politics of destruction.  Demeaning political rivals, attacking the media, gross vulgarity, an immaturity that would make my two teenage sons look like reasoned adults.  The one thing I would agree with what Donald Trump said tonight is that clearly something is a little different up there.

“This is all part of Trump’s strategy to avoid talking about his failed record as President and the broken promises he made to Minnesotans and Americans.  While Trump and Republicans are busy finding their next victim to attack, the Minnesota DFL is busy communicating with voters.  We’re talking to voters at their doors and on the phones about Donald Trump’s record of broken promises and failed policies. Trump has not delivered on making health care and prescription drugs less expensive, his trade war has devastated our farmers and communities throughout Greater Minnesota, and his tax plan shortchanges middle-class families and small businesses. That’s not a winning record for the people of Minnesota. Continue reading “DFL Statement on Trump’s Minneapolis Rally”

Minnesota DFL on Trump Rally in Minneapolis

SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA – Ahead of Donald Trump’s MAGA rally today in Minneapolis, Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party Chairman Ken Martin released the following statement:

“Instead of addressing rising prescription drug costs or stagnant wages, protecting Medicare, or keeping jobs in Minnesota, Trump is coming to our state after spending the week attacking our hardworking public servants and facing scandals on every front. We already know he has broken his promise to the people in our state to work for them – Minnesotans recognize a scam when we see one.

“Rather than give oxygen to the incomprehensible lies he’ll undoubtedly spew, DFLers will be spending the day talking to voters and canvassing in neighborhoods across the state. Donald Trump’s agenda of broken promises will yet again lead him to lose Minnesota and bring down his Republican enablers along the way.”  Continue reading “Minnesota DFL on Trump Rally in Minneapolis”

Minneapolis mayor to Trump: Pay your bills

Campaign, not taxpayers, should pay $530K, mayor says

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said Tuesday he would push President Donald Trump’s campaign to pay $530,000 in city costs associated with an upcoming Trump rally, while campaign officials said they’ve reached an agreement with the rally venue operator and won’t pay anything extra.

“It’s not extortion to expect someone to pay their bills,” Frey said in a news conference Tuesday.

Trump plans to rally supporters Thursday evening in the city-owned Target Center. The Trump campaign said in a news release Monday that AEG, the private company that manages Target Center, threatened to cancel its contract for the event if the campaign did not agree to reimburse Minneapolis for security costs and other services.
